math

After one year of schooling, we do have our favourites. I’ll touch on one of the subjects: Math. We have been a strong supporter of the Good and the Beautiful curriculums. They are written so beautifully and truly cover all your student needs to master the subject.

Recently for grade 4, we picked up a copy of the Abeka Math Curriculum. After glancing through it I felt TGTB math is more at the Canadian Grade 4 level than Abeka Math.

So, we reverted back to TGTB for my grade 4-er and we are using the grade 4 Abeka Math for my grade 3-er.

Speaking for their grade 4 level, TGTB offers their curriculum for free and also provides video mini-lesson guidelines. They open the learning of math to everything around us - which allows for the expansion of the mind and opening of the eyes.

Math for us is one of those subjects that gets the occasional (or often) whine. TGTB helps us through a thorough learning of the subject in bitesize form.

It’s definitely worth looking into.
